Frequently Asked Questions

What is your cancellation policy?

Riverview Music Therapy LLC staff require at least 24 hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

What happens if I miss a session without notifying my music therapist?

Should you fail to communicate being absent prior to your session with your therapist, unless there has been an emergent reason for missing the session, you will be charged for 50% of your session fee. You will still be expected to attend the next scheduled session unless you or your music therapist determine otherwise.

What is the late payment policy?

All late payments will incur a daily $2 charge on every day it is overdue. An invoice will be made available to clients one week before payments are due. Payments being sent by mail must be postmarked within this one week time frame in order to be exempt from a late fee. Declined transactions will result in a $25 inconvenience fee to your next invoice.

How can I terminate music therapy services?

You have the right to terminate services at any time. Requests for termination by you must be made in writing. Verbal notices, while appreciated, are not accepted at this time. ​

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions can take place in the client's home, via telehealth, or in another mutually agreed upon location that is accessible to the client.

What payment methods are available?

All payments can be made as cash, check, or through Zelle or Venmo. Please see the 'Services & Pricing' tab for more information.

Are music therapy services covered by insurance?

At this time, Riverview Music Therapy LLC does not work directly with insurance agencies. If you are interested in reimbursement from your insurance company, you must first obtain a prescription or referral for services by your medical provider. You must then submit any/all documents to your insurance provider to request coverage or reimbursement. Private insurance agencies approve coverage on a case-by-case basis. NJ Medicaid does not currently cover music therapy services. Select Medicare policies will cover music therapy services. Talk to your insurance provider or representative to see if you qualify.

What are my rights as a client?

Clients have the right to:

- Refuse/terminate services at any time.

- Make a request for the music therapist's qualifications.

- Have written documents of policies, procedures, fees, and confidentiality made readily available and easily accessible to them at all times.

- Request a second opinion.

- File a complaint to local and state governments or professional association if they believe they have been treated unethically.

- Disclose personal information as they see appropriate or necessary.
